Ballina look to bounce back after first defeat of season

Rugby: All Ireland League

Ballina will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat in the All Ireland League division 2C tomorrow, when they return to action at home.

The Heffernan Park outfit went down by eight points to Bruff in Kilballyowen Park last weekend in Limerick. Billy McVann touched down twice for Ballina with Chris O'Neill also getting a try for the Mayo men. But scores from Bruff's winger, Liam Treacy, who scored a try in each half, along with Tom O'Dwyer and Jack O'Grady both crossing the whitewash, secured the win for the Limerick men.

Ballina stay in third place in the table after four games and they will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on another Limerick side tomorrow afternoon, when Thomond pay a visit to north Mayo. The Limerick men have just won league game this season and last weekend they were beaten 24-22 by Malahide - which was the Dublin outfit's first win of the season.

Ballina will follow tomorrow's game up with a trip to Dublin the following weekend, when they face Seapoint in Kilbogget Park, before the league action takes a break until December, when they will have home games against Midleton, Bangor and an away trip to Derry to wrap up their competitive action, prior to the month long Christmas break.
