Lost Brothers to play at Westport Town Hall Theatre

The Lost Brothers are Westport bound this December and have been shortlisted for Best Album and Best Group at the inaugural RTE Radio Folk Awards.

Their new album - “Halfway Towards A Healing” - is one of ten albums nominated for Album Of The Year.

The band, which has been likened to an “Irish cosmic Everly Brothers”, has been going from strength to strength in recent months and their Westport Theatre performance will mark their debut appearance at the venue.

Westport Town Hall Theatre will welcome The Lost Brothers to on December 22, when they visit Mayo as part of a national tour and tickets for the gig are now on sale.

“I’m very excited to be playing our first ever Westport Theatre gig”, said songwriter Oisin Leech of the Lost Brothers. “I associate Westport with the beautiful journey west to Belmullet, where we spent a few summers. We lived on Shraigh Hill and spent endless hours playing on the sand dunes and betting on horses on beach races. It’s great to be returning to Mayo."

The other Lost Brother, Mark McCausland, from Omagh, is a descendant of the legendary Lonnie Donnegon.

“We may have to cover a Lonnie song”, quipped Mark. “We will have a very special guest joining us on the night and it’s our first Mayo full band show.”

The Lost Brothers will perform old classics, some Everly Brothers songs and new material from 'Halfway Towards A Healing', which was released earlier this year and has received widespread critical acclaim.

The band has a been on a worldwide tour ever since its release, taking in Australia and the US and an appearance on the Late Late Show. Altogether the band has been touring for ten years and this year has been their most successful to date, with sold out shows and a rapidly growing fan base.

The Folk Awards ceremony takes place on October 25 at Vicar St, Dublin, where The Lost Brothers will perform beside Christy Moore, Andy Irvine and more.
