Body of Mayo native found in Navan

The body of a Mayo native who went missing from her home in Navan on March 3 was located in the Boyne river near Kilcaim Bridge, on the Dublin side of Navan.

The body of 53-year-old Margaret Mawhinney (formerly McHale ) from Silverbrook, Navan, Co Meath and originally from Brackwansha, Knockmore, Ballina was found by Meath River Rescue at 12.15pm on March 20.

Margaret is a sister of Michael McHale, Lisduvogue, Knockmore; PJ McHale, Brackwansha, Knockmore; Rose Traynor, Brackwansha, Knockmore; Pauline Campbell, Behymore, Ballina; Maureen Rowden Tallon, Bray, Co Wicklow; Linda White, Birmingham; and Marion Fueloepp, Frankfurt, Germany.

She is survived by her husband Richard Mawhinney and their two children: Ruth aged 17 and Stephen, 13.
