Timlin’s Drapery was established by Peter Timlin senior in 1948 and 60 years later the shop is still going strong with the second generation.
Together with his wife Kathleen they established a general drapery which catered for all their customers’ needs. In the early days customers would have been loyal to one business. The premises is a well known landmark on Pearse Street and at the time the bus stop was also located across the street. This would have added to the bustle of the area and between this and the business acumen they acquired in their previous careers they managed to establish a client base with a strong trade.
Granted the range of products offered are more specialised but you will still receive the same level of service and attention to detail as the previous 60 years.
The business is now run by Peter and Kathleen’s son Peter Junior with shop manager Marion Hannick and Yvonne and Dee. The staff strive to ensure that the same level of quality service is maintained at all times. The shop now focuses on a range of ladies’, menswear, a selection of household and of course and an ever increasing range of school uniforms. In the ladies’ department there are knitwear ranges by Castle, Tulcan, Roisin McCarthy and Tivolli as well as skirts, tops and underwear. Within the men’s department the range of labels are Swallow, Belika and Deerpark as well as a range of jackets, shirts and underwear.
Timlins stock a full range of national and secondary school uniforms all year round. Log onto www.petertimlin.ie where you can browse through the full range of uniforms carried.
So the next time you are on Pearse Street why not drop in and have a look around.
