Partry Folkfest to raise funds and awareness for Hospice and Rock Rose House

Due to its incredible success last year, the second Partry FolkFest will take place on Saturday, June 16, at The Village Inn, Partry from 2pm until late.

Seventeen acts have confirmed to take part in this wonderful fundraising festival for Mayo Roscommon Hospice palliative services and Mayo Cancer Support (Rock Rose House ). A mix of local and not-so-local acts will take to the stage with a blend of folk styles.

Acts such as Phase, Stephen Doherty and Pat Coyne, Moon Looks On, Laura Ryder, Gráinne Fahy, The Mary Wallopers, Chapel St Gospel Choir, and many more will provide super entertainment. In addition to the music, it will also be a great family event, with barbecue, bouncy castle, children’s entertainer, face-painting, and a few other surprises. Admission is by donation on the day.

Besides raising much-needed funds, the aim of the one-day event is to raise awareness of the amazing work that the two charities do for the people of Mayo. From specialist home and hospital palliative care and family therapy, to counselling and treatments such as reflexology and massage, so much work is done for patients and their families, a lot of which goes unnoticed.

Through Partry FolkFest 2018 it is hoped that people can support these great causes and have a terrific time too. Check out www.facebook.com/partryfolkfest for more information.
