‘Dare to Wear Pink’ raises €22k for Breast Cancer Research

Friends of Breast Cancer Research, Athlone - Dympna Cunniffe, Marion Donaghue, Katie Donaghue, Grainne McNeece, Tracey Staunton and Fiona O'Neill - recently held ‘Dare to Wear Pink Lunch by the Lake' at the Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club.

The event raised an incredible €22,000 for Breast Cancer Research. This very popular fundraising event is a highlight on the Midlands social calendar, with an emphasis on fun, support for each other and, above all, passion to bring about change.

Since the first event in 2010, the lunch has grown from strength-to-strength, with more than €100,000 raised to date for the charity. Funds raised help to support the breast cancer research team lead by Professor Michael Kerin, based at the Lambe Institute, University Hospital, Galway.

The next event will take place once again at the Glasson Country House Hotel & Golf Club from 1.30pm on Sunday, October 7.
