Audi Ireland winning in weak market

Audi is positively going against the grain in the Irish market. As others falter, it is growing in its market share and moving into the number one premium brand position. The strong TDI/diesel pedigree combined with innovative technology and design have paid dividends. The new A4 is the best selling premium car in the first 10 weeks of 2009 and together with the youngest model line up including the new Q5, it has helped propel Audi to almost 4 per cent market share year to date, from 3.3 per cent in 2008.

''The car industry in Ireland has been through the perfect storm in the last 12 months and navigating has not been easy but we will stay focused on our long term strategy'' said Fintan Knight, Director of Audi.

Audi recently announced several A3, A4 and A6 limited edition offers with prices starting at €22,950. These models are strictly limited both in quantity and timeframe and prices quoted are ex-works.

''These models have lower specifications than our normal line up but all share the fundamental qualities you expect with every Audi, quality, technical sophistication, design, performance and of course efficiency'' said Fintan Knight. ''By giving our customers and potential customers this choice, we are creating an innovative alternative and supporting the local economy and our dealers.''

''The reaction to this announcement has been very positive. Already 45 per cent of the units have been reserved after just 7 days”, Knight added.
