Local paramedic to go on Winning Streak

A local paramedic is hoping to do a great service for his mother Maureen by appearing on her behalf on the National Lottery Winning Streak game show on RTE One this Saturday (March 3 ).

Charlie Nevin was working on Saturday evening when he got a call from a neighbour to tell him that his mother’s name had been selected to take part in Winning Streak. No sooner had he predicted to an ambulance colleague that he his mother would ask him to step in for her on the show than she rang with that very request. Charlie has worked as a paramedic at the Roscommon Ambulance Service for the past eight years. He is married to Anna Marie and the couple are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year.

As well as his parents and family, Charlie will be supported in the audience this Saturday by his brother John and sisters Ann, Olivia, Theresa and Denise.

His parents Tony and Maureen live close to Charlie and are the proud grandparents to 17 grandchildren. Both are looking forward to cheering their son from the audience and Maureen does not have any plans yet for her winnings. She says she will see how her son gets on first!

The next episode of Winning Streak will be broadcast next Saturday evening (March 3 ) at 8:15pm on RTÉ One, where presenters Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy will guide five players through the iconic show, which gives them the chance to win cash, cars and luxury holidays. One will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to spin the Grand Prize Wheel with a maximum prize of €500,000.
