Peter Mark raises funds for Simon Community

Stylish pyjama parties, fancy dress parties and bake sales: maybe not what you would normally expect to find at Peter Mark’s Athlone salon, but for one weekend every year the Petermarkathon fundraiser amounts to all of that, and it is always for an amazing cause.

This week, Peter Mark Athlone celebrated their part in raising a fantastic €65,000 for the Simon Communities and specifically contributed to maintaining the support facilities for homeless individuals in crisis as part of the ‘Make it Home’ campaign.

The charity focuses not on managing but ending homelessness, ensuring that people on the edge maintain and keep their homes. The overall aim of the “Make it Home” campaign is to keep and ensure homes for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

Brian Ingarfield of The Simon Community said: “We cannot express how thankful we are to Peter Mark for supporting the Simon Communities nationwide with this wonderful initiative. We are delighted to accept these much-needed funds raised by all Peter Mark clients and salon teams. All funds raised by Peter Mark will go such a long way in supporting our work around the country, helping people move on from homelessness to safe and secure homes of their own”
