Family Fun at Roscommon Arts Centre

Galway-based children’s theatre company, Branar returns to Roscommon Arts Centre to present its adaptation of How to Catch a Star on Saturday, February 17, for two captivating performances.

Based on the beloved book by award-winning Irish author, Oliver Jeffers, the story tells of a boy who was always looking up. He dreams of becoming friends with a star and he sets out to catch it. This is the story of his adventure.

This adaptation, which is suitable for children aged four and older, combines puppetry with a magical, original score and evocative animation and design, complete with Branar’s signature storytelling, which creates a show that reminds us all to follow our dreams. Filled with plenty of laugh out loud moments, How to Catch a Star is also full of the visual magic that Branar is well known for.

Branar Téatar do Pháistí are no stranger to Roscommon Arts Centre, having previously performed family and schools shows such as The Way Back Home, Maloney’s Dream and The Shape of Things at the centre in recent years. One of the country’s leading creators of children’s theatre, Branar strives to create simple, elegant theatre for young people, that not only entertains but also encourages their imaginations to run free.
