Local coach receives the ICF Rising Star Award

The Irish Chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF ) recently awarded the ICF Ireland Rising Star Coaching Award for 2017 to Athlone based coach, David O’Grady.

David is an outstanding coach in the areas of personal and professional development. The judging panel were impressed with him for what he has achieved as a recently credentialed ICF coach.

“This was a very strong submission. We are impressed with the impact that David has made on the coaching world – in addition to his research and lecturing experience at Athlone IT,” the panel commented.

David works as human resources professional in KCI Manufacturing, based in the Athlone IDA Business and Technology Park. He specialises in the areas of professional coaching, talent management, high performance, personal brand, and leadership development. He is former chairman and current treasurer of Midlands CIPD. He also lecturers in Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT ).

David holds a first class masters from UL in organisational behaviour, where he also received the Kemmy Business School Outstanding Scholar Award. On the night of the ICF awards, he acknowledged the outstanding support he has received from KCI Manufacturing in relation to his educational and professional development.

David has quickly garnered a reputation among clients as someone who enables them to identify the key steps to success. He believes that people are the orchestrators of their own lives and that everyone needs space from time-to-time to get clarity on how to make their goals a reality. This is where David’s skillset comes into play, in the developmental cycle of people’s aspirational visions.

In awarding David the Rising Star Award 2017, ICF Ireland has given recognition to his ability to view coaching in a wider context, and his clear commitment to his ongoing personal development and coaching.
