Garrycastle GAA young guns have moved indoors

Garrycastle GAA Club, now in its 36th year of promoting Gaelic football at a grass roots level in Athlone, has established a unique and innovative nursery.

The nursery carefully introduces boys and girls to the world of Gaelic games in a fun and inspiring way. The nursery takes an attentive small group approach, where children enjoy coaching with a small group of friends. The emphasis is always on fun and involvement, and then the skills of Gaelic games.

During the winter period, the nursery (Cubs ) is held from 11am to 12noon every Sunday morning in AIT Sports Hall, Dublin Road. This year the club welcomes boys and girls born between 2010 and 2013. As the club’s motto reads; ‘Friends for life’, the nursery certainly does provide a fantastic opportunity for children to make lots of new friends.

The club has been blessed with the many parents who come on board each year to help out and new people are always encouraged to get involved. Rain, hail or snow, training will be on.
