An interesting Westmeath Semior Football Championship semi-final double header is scheduled for TEG Cusack Park on Sunday.
At 2pm, The Downs face Tyrrellspass, and that match will be followed by Coralstown-Kinnegad’s clash with holders St Loman’s, Mullingar.
The Downs, who last triumphed in 2005, have made impressive strides in recent years, but Tyrrellspass are a hard working outfit, who reached last year’s decider.
St Loman’s proved too strong, but Tyrrellspass are hoping to return to that stage once more. Coralstown-Kinnegad will be striving to cause a shock against favourites St Loman’s, who are looking to secure their third title in a row. Loman’s have won three of the last four County Championships and remain the team to beat in the competition
