EBS is delighted to announce that eight community initiatives across Mullingar and Athlone are to receive funding from the new EBS Community Fund.
In total over €5,250 has been given through the EBS Community Fund to local community organisations in Mullingar and Athlone.
The Mullingar projects to benefit are Temporary Emergency Accommodation Mullingar (TEAM ), the Carers Association, St Oliver Plunkets Hurling Club, St Colmans National School, and Crookedwood Camogie Club.
In Athlone, funding is to go to St Hilda's Special School, All Children Learn Different Athlone, and St Vincent de Paul.
EBS offices across the country called on communities to ‘Make a Difference’ last December and nominate local initiatives worthy of receiving grants through the EBS Community Fund, a new fund available to help support causes in the local community.
The groups being supported in Athlone and Mullingar are among 154 initiatives around the country chosen by a group of EBS members and staff, who reviewed all nominations and decided on the causes to benefit.
Head of marketing at EBS, Aidan Power, said: “EBS Building Society has been working with local communities since our foundation in 1935. The EBS Community Fund has been established to assist worthy organisations working in towns and villages around the country.
“I would like to wish all of the successful nominees in Mullingar and Athlone well. I would also like to thank everyone who nominated local initiatives for taking the time to do so, and I hope that you will do so again when it comes to our next round of funding.”
