Rehab calls for volunteers for three exciting walking charity challenges

The Rehab Group is seeking volunteers to join either of its two walking tours, which will take place in Scotland in May and Italy in October. Rehab is offering volunteers a unique opportunity to fundraise and explore these amazing countries while, in the process, helping people with disabilities in communities around the country.

Discover Scotland’s heritage

The three-day Scotland walk will begin in the historic city of Edinburgh which includes the majestic Castle and the Palace of Holyrood. Walkers will be able to stroll through the elegant Georgian streets of the New Town and the Royal Mile. Then, in a change of scene, they will find themselves following ancient roads through the wild beauty of the Highlands and enjoying spectacular views over lovely Loch Lomond. Finally, participants can attempt to spot Nessie on a visit to tranquil Loch Ness and take a walk through the surrounding forests.

Explore the magic of Italy

This eleven-day trip encompasses the breath-taking Veneto region on Italy’s north-east coast. The journey begins on the shores of the stunning Lake Garda, where participants will enjoy a boat trip and walks to the picturesque towns of Riva, Torbole, and Sirmione, renowned for its medieval walled castle. In the ancient city of Verona, walkers will be able to step back in time with a visit to the balcony made famous in Romeo and Juliet. On a tour of Venice, participants will relish the dazzling views of this unique and celebrated city, with its painted palaces, fabulous art collections, and distinctive charm. There are expeditions to the magnificent Cascata del Varone waterfall near Lake Garda, and a winery, where walkers can relax with a bottle of locally-produced wine.

Flora Womens Mini Marathon

Rehab would like to hear from volunteers wishing to be part of team Rehab for the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin on June 1.

The Rehab focus on this marathon will be to raise funds for the HeadsUp Suicide prevention programme aimed at young people between 15 and 24 years old. The Mini Marathon is a great fun day out providing an opportunity to get fit while raising money for this great cause.
