Great reaction from midland organisations to upcoming 50 Plus Show

The 50 Plus Show, the lifestyle event for Ireland’s retired and older people, is coming to the Radisson Blu Hotel Athlone on Wednesday and Thursday, June 28 and 29.

The organisers describe the event as a ‘one-stop shop’ for older people, showcasing many of their interests and concerns, including health, finance, statutory entitlements, legal and tax issues, security, travel, homes and gardens, DIY, activities, food and wine, hobbies and more.

As well as more than 60 stands, there will be a presentation programme including contributions from Sinead Ryan, the Irish Independent‘s consumer affairs expert, Michelle O’Brien of the Irish Osteoporosis Society who will dispel some of the myths surrounding this condition. The common misconception is that osteoporosis only affects older women, but children as young as seven get the condition and it is as common among men as women.

Former TD and published author Mary O’Rourke will give a talk on creative writing and a fashion show organised by St Vincent de Paul will be staged.

The organisers point out that many prestigious midland, regional, and national companies and bodies have booked stands at the event and that some stands are still available.
