Local nurse set to put pedal to the metal in aid of Westmeath Hospice

From June 23 to 26, local nurse Mairead Martin is taking part in the Malin to Mizen cycle to raise much-needed funds for South Westmeath hospice.

Only catching the cycling bug a year ago, Mairead recently completed the Tour of Connemara as practice for this upcoming fundraiser.

To boost her funds, a number of her friends have organised a charity chest/leg wax and head shave in Potters Bar this coming Saturday, June 3.

The event kicks off at 9pm sharp with the first in line for waxing being new Junior Minister and man of the moment, Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran. This will be Boxer’s first official function on being appointed minister.

Other participants on the night include JP Malone, Mark Fox, Gary Joyce, Gerry Furey, and Jimmy Devine. All proceeds will go to support South Westmeath hospice and will be presented to Mairead at a later date.

Why not pop into Potters Bar on the night? With music by Adrian Hyney, complimentary finger food and much more, it is sure to be a great night while supporting a brilliant cause.

Sponsorship cards are readily available by contacting Jimmy on (087 ) 9752970 or at Potters Bar. People can also contribute on the night.
