Bailer to light up Passionfruit

There’s a treat in store for music fans this Saturday night with an appearance at Athlone’s Passionfruit theatre by Dublin band Bailer.

Bailer recently released their debut album Running.

Recorded in Dublin over the course of a year, it features all the melody and vitality of Bailer’s acoustic-driven live material, with the added excitement of a brass section featuring some of Ireland’s finest jazz and classical musicians. The album was produced by Bobby Boughton and mastered by US industry legend Bob Katz.

Bailer was formed in 2001 and the band has performed at leading venues and festivals all over Ireland. Regular supports with some of Ireland’s most popular acts like Aslan and The Hothouse Flowers have provided tremendous exposure.

Bailer's music is an exciting and original blend of acoustic and electric material. Founder members of Bailer, singer Caitriona McGuinness and guitarist/songwriter Maurice Brennan, previously played together in Dublin building up a strong repertoire and gaining live experience.

After several line-up changes the band really came into its own in the summer of 2003 with the arrival of the crazy French drummer Frank Chircop. Bailer released its debut EP In the City in 2004. Peter Jordan joined the band in 2005 and features on the latest recording.

See Bailer in Passionfruit Theatre, Athlone this Saturday March 7, with support from A Band Called Wanda.

Tickets are €15 from (086 ) 3338457 or [email protected]. Doors open at 8pm.
