Almost half of Irish women spend an average of 4.3 days a year blow-drying their hair.
That is according to new research by Peter Mark, Ireland’s leading hairdressing group.
The survey of 269 Irish women examined hair styling habits and was carried out to celebrate DAFNI - an innovative hair straightening brush which is set to be the must-have styling product of 2017.
According to the Peter Mark survey, 44 per cent of women wash and blow-dry their hair three to four times a week and half spend 20 to 30 minutes blow-drying it.
Some 11 per cent said they wash and dry their hair five to seven times in any given week, and 7 per cent said it can take more than an hour to blow-dry their hair each time. Almost three in four women polled (72 per cent ) admitted to using a hair straightening tool to achieve a smooth and polished look.
Of those who straighten their hair, 54 per cent do so up to four times a week and one in five spend 20 minutes straightening their hair each time.
