Athlone has been commended not once but twice in Best of Ireland 2017, an annual publication that shines a light on the good and the great that Ireland has to offer.
In this year’s edition, Athlone’s Thyme restauarant won the title of 'Westmeath’s Best Restaurant', while Ireland’s oldest pub, Sean’s Bar, is recognised as one of the country’s finest drinking establishments, in the category of ‘Best Pubs’.
