It's that time of year again as Midlands Astronomy Club gears up to host its annual star party, Cosmos.
Cosmos is one of the highlights of the Irish astronomical event calendar every year. Attracting international guest speakers and visitors alike, this star party is one of the most exciting, educational, and friendly in Western Europe.
What began as a complimentary star party known as the Irish Astrofest, hosted by Midlands Astronomy Club since 1992, has turned into a thrilling weekend full of internationally recognised speakers, exhibits and stands, astronomy, rocket launches, interactive fun events, and more.
Aimed at all levels of interest, ages, and demographics, Cosmos brings together astronomers, scientists, rocket engineers, as well as amateurs, families, and enthisiasts for a celebration of Irish astronomy.
The programme lasts from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon, March 31 to April 2, and the event will once again be held in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel Athlone.
Weekend tickets cost €40; Saturday tickets cost €30; Sunday tickets cost €20; Friday night tickets cost €3. U13s go free with a paying adult (excluding Friday night ). Refreshments will be provided.
