Real life fitness for real life mothers

All mums know, when that little bundle of joy comes into your life, your world changes completely.

Alison Hogan, founder of The Pilates Studio in Athlone, is herself a mum of two. She understands all too well how little time there is to get back in shape. That is why Alison has designed new pilates programmes dedicated to helping women celebrate motherhood, and using simple but effective ways to safely restore their body and shape.

To celebrate Mothers Day, Alison is launching a new free Facebook group called ‘Mama’s Gym & Tonic’! This is where mums can share the hilarity of motherhood, as well as reading and talking about everything from gym to gin. Once you sign up to this free group you will receive lots of freebies.

Mama’s Gym & Tonic freebies

Alison offers free downloadables on topics such as ‘self-check for abdominal separation’ and a free ‘Buggy BootCamp’ plan to maximise your results when out walking with baby.

Later, Alison will add short home workout programmes and videos to fit around your busy schedule. As part of the group, Alison encourages mums to sign up for her ‘Restore Your Core Challenge’, launching on Tuesday, May 2.

Celebrate and enjoy motherhood

Alison believes no woman should have to live with any of the common after-effects of pregnancy and birth, such as weak pelvic floor, back pain, abdominal separation, stress incontinence, or simply feeling unhappy in themselves.

“It’s never too late to restore your core,” she says. “I want to help women see what they can achieve. Whether your baby is six weeks or 16.”

Baby-life balance

Alison is always developing new, inventive ways for mums to achieve baby-life balance with a feel-good factor. The Pilates Studio offers signature specalised programmes for the pre- and postnatal mum. These include ‘BabyBumps’, a fabulous comprehensive pregnancy programme, and ‘MamaLates’.
