Westmeath will be hoping to earn two more valuable Allianz Football League Division Four points against Wicklow at TEG Cusack Park on Sunday, throw-in at 2pm.
Tom Cribbin’s team have won three and drawn one of their matches so far in the competition. The opening weekend stalemate with Carlow was followed by victories over Limerick, Leitrim, and Waterford, ensuring the Midlanders are nicely placed behind Wexford in the standings.
Seamus ‘Banty’ McEnaney’s Wexford are the only team with a flawless record in the group, so Westmeath will want to remain in the top two.
Wicklow, who struggled early on in the competition, have improved earning the spoils against London, while they also produced a spirited display when losing to Wexford.
Kieran Martin and John Heslin’s scoring form, though, offers Westmeath encouragement, as the Midlanders are gunning to earn promotion this year.
