Pat Jordan’s Bar is located on the main street of Clarinbridge, home of the famous Oyster Festival and just 10km south of Galway City on the busy N18 Galway to Limerick road.
The pub has been leased since 1995 and there is currently a tenant in situ; however the present owner Pat Jordan is retiring from the business.
Steeped in history, Pat Jordan’s Bar has been in operation continuously since 1885. It consists of a traditional licensed premises on the ground floor, including a rear lounge/pool room with separate bar area, toilets, cold room, store room, and concrete yard.
The first floor accommodation was once used as residential and is now used as storage; this area could easily be converted for residential use again. There is a separate two-bedroom self-contained unit at the rear of the premises.
Jordan’s Bar is one of the best known bars in south Galway since the original Patrick Jordan opened the pub in 1885. Since then it has traded as a bar and grocery, and has been just a pub since 1968. Patrick Jordan died in 1915 and the pub was then run by his wife and son Patrick, who ran the pub till his death in 1961. It was then run by his wife, followed by her son, the present owner, Pat.
