The Three Tenors bring their highly rated show to Ss Peter and Paul's Church, Athlone, on Sunday, December 18, at 8pm.
Performing up to 100 concerts annually in premier venues throughout Ireland and the UK, this year the trio sold out the five-star Belfast Lyric Theatre two months in advance. They also performed in Armagh, Christ Church Dublin, and Galway cathedrals.
Otherwise known as Derek Moloney, Dominic McGorian, and Shane Morgan, The Three Tenors promise a magical night packed full of uplifting songs made famous by world superstars including Sinatra, The Dubliners, and Pavarotti.
The audience will also be treated to new arrangements of hits such as "Over the Rainbow" and "I don’t wanna talk about it". The concert will include spiritual favourites like "Panis Angelicus", "Ave Maria", "The Prayer", and Christmas favourites like "O Holy Night" and "Silent Night".
Some of The Three Tenors highlights over the past few years include being the headline act for the European premiere of the film Lincoln in 2013, sharing the stage with leading stars including Sinéad O’Connor, Shane McGowan, and Chris De Burgh. This year the trio was selected by the Irish Government to headline the 1916 Centenary State Reception in Dublin Castle on Easter Sunday in front of 3,000 invited guests from around the world.
Tickets for this great event are on sale for €25 and are available from the parish office and the sacristy of Ss Peter and Paul's, from SuperValu in Monksland, Cooney's Pharmacy, Arcadia, and from Mulligan's on the Roscommon Road.
