Citroën has pulled off a brace of wins in two UK car publication awards.

The new Citroën C3 has been awarded the title ‘Best Urbanite’ in BBC TopGear magazine’s latest Best Cars in the World awards. The BBC TopGear judges were impressed by the model’s “fashionable” looks and “calming” interior, things that make it perfect for city life.

Commended for its striking appearance and personalisation options, the new Citroën C3 won over the BBC TopGear judges thanks to its levels of comfort, advanced technologies, and its ability to “pirouette” in and out of tight urban spaces. The fun, French supermini premieres the world’s first fully integrated HD dashcam, which is located just behind the rear-view mirror.

‘ConnectedCAM’ Citroën enables the driver to safely take pictures, record videos, and to share them instantly on social media channels, or to use the automatic video function to provide evidence in the event of an accident. The new Citroën C3 is the latest model to benefit from the Advanced Comfort® programme.

The visibly comfortable seats, the amount of light from the panoramic glass sunroof, the 7-inch touchscreen which groups together all of the key vehicle functions, and the keyless entry and start system all combine to emphasise a feeling of reassurance, comfort, and wellbeing. As well as offering an extensive and coherent range of personalisation options, and two-tone exterior colour schemes, the Airbump panels are an instantly recognisable option.

The new Citroën C3 is also fitted with a choice of efficient powertrains, offering both award-winning PureTech petrol engines and exceptionally economical BlueHDi diesel engines.

Grand C4 Picasso scoops Best Seven-Seater award

Another big winner for Citroën came with the Grand C4 Picasso scooping the Best Seven-Seater prize in the UK’s Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2017.

The new Grand C4 Picasso was chosen by the Carbuyer road-test team because of its running costs, comfort, practicality, reliability, and safety, as well as its new technologies, value-for-money and optional extras. The ultra-practical family car was recognised for its superior comfort and innovative technologies, alongside a supremely spacious and versatile interior.

On this latest win, Louise Murphy, Citroën Ireland’s marketing director, commented: “The awards just keep coming for this great family car and that’s because it really is the best vehicle in its class, and the top selling seven-seater in Ireland. Following the ‘Best MPV’ award from Auto Express earlier this year, we are honoured to be able to add the accolade of Carbuyer Best Seven-Seater 2017 to the list. This award is testament to the Citroën design and engineering teams, and is evidence that style doesn’t need to lose out to practicality.”
