Murphy + McGerr Architecture (MMA ), Blyry Business Park, Athlone, is involved in one of central London's most prestigious new developments on the city's famous Oxford Street.
With a construction value of more than £180 milliion, the ‘Rathbone Square’ development is one of central London's largest construction projects, comprising a mix of apartments, offices, and retail space.
MMA was retained to provide design consultancy and specialist Building Information Modelling (BIM ) services for 20 apartments and sections of the basement levels. BIM is a specialist technology-driven area of modern construction in which MMA have been at the forefront for almost 10 years.
Involvement in the project required the highest level of skills in design as well as BIM. MMA was sought out as its expert team have extensive experience in both areas.
MMA director, Mel McGerr, noted that the project has been very exciting for the practice: “We are collaborating with MAKE Architects, Lendlease UK, and Errigal Contracts amongst others," he said. "These companies are world-renowned and operate on a global scale. To be assessed and approved by these companies and to be involved in a project of this scale is a massive vote of confidence in the skills and expertise of our team.”
The development is due for completion in late 2017.
