Improved service announced for Expressway bus route

Bus Éireann has announced improvements to its Expressway route 20/20X service which runs between Dublin Airport, Athlone, Ballinasloe, and Galway.

The changes include a new 05.30 service, Monday to Friday, from Dublin to Galway; a new 05.30 service, Monday to Friday, from Galway to Dublin; and an additional 16.30 Friday-only service from Dublin to Galway, operating via Dublin Airport.

Customers are asked to note that this is a non-stop service from Athlone direct to Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre. Bus Éireann offers a direct service from Athlone to Dublin Airport and Dublin city centre via the M6 motorway, with journey time from Athlone to Dublin Airport just one hour and 25 minutes. This gives customers in Athlone a greater choice of services, starting at 07.10 and finishing at 23.10.

People living in Moate, Horseleap, Kilbeggan, Tyrrellspass, Rochfortbridge, and Milltownpass also have a choice of frequent and direct services to and from Dublin city and Airport.

The Expressway Route 20/X20 is also ideal for tourists who want to experience all that the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer. Visitors from Ireland and abroad can avail of Bus Éireann's Open Road pass for €60 which allows for three days of unlimited travel out of six consecutive days, across their nationwide network of services.

All vehicles operating on the Expressway Route 20/X20 service are equipped with free WiFi, and the company’s most modern vehicles feature extra comfort seats and charging points at selected seats.
