Athlone Towncentre sponsors Friday’s Fair Lady at the Galway Races

Now in its fourth year, the Athlone Towncentre-sponsored Friday Fair Lady Best Dressed Competition at the Galway Races has certainly found its place on the calendars of the most stylish race-goers in the country.

The judging panel on Friday, July 29, will be headed up once again by renowned racing fashion expert, stylist, and regular contributor on RTE Racing, Marietta Doran. Joining forces with Marietta in her quest to find Friday’s Fair Lady this year will be 2FM presenter Lottie Ryan. It has also been revealed that the reigning Mr Ireland, Darren King, will be joining the panel, fresh from his exploits at the recent Mr World competition in the UK.

The prize value for this year’s competition will be in excess of €2,000. The best dressed lady on Friday will walk away with a €1,000 shopping spree in Athlone Towncentre, a luxury hotel and spa break at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel, dinner in the award-winning Fatted Calf Restaurant, a €300 voucher for treatments in the Laser & Skin Clinic located in Athlone Towncentre, and a voucher for a bespoke headpiece crafted by award-winning Irish milliner, Suzie Mahony.

Speaking at the announcement of the event recently, Shirley Delahunt, centre manager at Athlone Towncentre, said: “We are delighted to present the Friday’s Fair Lady event at the Galway Races on July 29. The last number of years have seen the competition go from strength to strength and we have an even bigger prize fund this year to reflect that.”

Marietta, Lottie, and their team of fashion scouts, including Athlone Towncentre’s resident personal shopper and stylist, Pamela Daly Guinan, will be trackside in Ballybrit from 4pm on Friday, July 29. The winner will announced after the third race of the evening.
