Ever since its introduction in 2001, the Opel Vivaro has been a popular van in its segment. Last week, the Opel manufacturing plant in England witnessed another milestone in the flexible load master’s history, with the 750,000th Vivaro rolling off the production line.
“This is an impressive number for the Vivaro especially in this hard-fought market segment,” said Steffen Raschig, Opel/Vauxhall director of commercial vehicles. “The Combo, Vivaro, and Movano are an important part of our growth strategy. We are on target to increase unit sales of these products by around 80 per cent by 2022, from 83,000 light commercial vehicles sold in 2013 to 150,000 units in 2022.”
Priced from just €21,995, Vivaro is Opel’s best-selling light commercial vehicle in Ireland. Dubbed the ‘office on wheels’, Vivaro combines the functionality of a van with the comfort of a passenger car, adding practical and innovative features to run a business. Standard features include six-way adjustable driver’s seat (height/lumbar/armrest ), bluetooth and USB connectivity, digital radio, and daytime running lights for the base trim.
The ‘Sportive’ trim from €24,995 adds cruise control, air con, parking sensors, LED daytime running lights, and front fog lights. It features a dual passenger bench-seat with storage, rotating clipboard, flat-fold centre section and the Flex-Cargo bulkhead load-through that facilitates loads of more than four metres in length.
The optional state-of-the-art IntelliLink with satellite navigation transforms Vivaro into a mobile office, syncing your smartphone’s contacts, messaging, music, and more with the intuitive touchscreen and steering wheel audio controls. The Vivaro’s engine portfolio comprises the latest 1.6 CDTi in 90hp or 115hp outputs, as well as the 1.6 BiTurbo engine in 120hp, 125hp or 140hp outputs.
With reduced fuel consumption as low as 5.7l per 100 km, Opel claims that the Vivaro offers the best in class fuel economy. Available in 10 colour variations, Vivaro can also be configured to meet just about every LCV need. Available as a panel van, double cab, or Combi, Vivaro is the LCV that can transform to suit a wide array of specific professional requirements.
