The Athlone Springs Hotel was the venue for the Blog Squad event last Sunday, April 24. The event, organised by Kieran Walsh of National Beauty, was every woman’s dream day out, compered by the hilarious James Patrice who many will know from TV3’s Xpose.
There was health and fitness advice from Ursula Walsh, with tips on how to keep your body and mind in great shape while having a busy lifestyle. Ursula’s motto is: “You gotta want it”.
Rosie Connolly gave a talk on how to make the best of your skin regime to keep your skin glowing and healthy. She spoke of her own personal experience dealing with acne, and went through all her personal favourite products, giving options to suit all budgets.
Lisa Jordan gave a witty make-up tutorial on how to achieve a flawless look, from the importance of using a primer to how to create a perfect contoured look. She also spoke of the importance of having your eyebrows shaped, and how to know what colours suit you and bring out your natural beauty.
The beautiful Joanne Larby, the Make Up Fairy, offered an insightful eyelash and liner demonstration, recommending a duo adhesive rather than using the glue provided in the packs.
Overall the event offered open, honest advice for women and was the perfect ladies day out, with goodie bags for attendees and a wonderful afternoon tea consisting of small baked treats, mini cakes, and the cutest of sandwiches.
The Blog Squad have a huge following, with each girl bringing her own unique view on what’s hot and what’s not. Speaking after the event Joanne Larby said, “The Blog Squad is a community and girly day that brings together inspiring young women hoping to inspire other women, be it with blogging or general tips.”
The Blog Squad are taking a break now until the autumn, but keep your ear to the ground as the next event will be one you don’t want to miss! The girls give invaluable advice.
