Athlone Arts Group has been invited to hold an art exhibition in the Dean Crowe Theatre as part of the All Ireland Drama Festival.
Appropriately named 'Festival of Colour', the exhibition will incorporate all mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolour, pastels, pen and ink, and there will be a myriad of subjects incorporated into the works.
The Athlone Arts Group has been in existence for 34 years and this is its first time participating in the All Ireland Drama Festival. The group is very excited about the new venue and hope that those attending plays will enjoy the paintings while having a cup of tea at the interval in the Gallery. The works being exhibited are for sale and there will be a couple of artists on hand on a nightly basis to answer questions for those interested.
The paintings will be displayed from April 27 with the launch taking place at 6pm. Broadcaster and actor Jason Gill will launch the exhibition. Jason is currently working with Athlone Community Radio. The exhibition will run until May 7 and all are welcome to attend.
Members of Athlone Arts Group would like to express their grateful thanks to the committee of the drama festival for hosting the exhibition and to Westmeath County Council for its continued support. Follow the group on Facebook at 'Athlone Arts Group'.
