SuperValu Monksland are delighted to announce the commencement of Sensory Friendly Shopping at SuperValu Monksland.
April is Autism Awareness Month and this initiative may be of particular benefit to those with autism as well as others with special needs or who are affected by noise or bright lights.
Based on customer request, Sensory Friendly Shopping times will take place as follows: Tuesday, April 19 from 7-9pm; Tuesday, April 26 from 7-9pm, and Tuesday, May 3 from 7-9pm.
During these times, all music and in-store announcements will be turned off, and lighting will be dimmer to create a calmer environment with less sensory stimulation.
Manager of SuperValu Monksland Tim Dolan said he hopes this initiative will be of benefit to many, and that it is something they will keep doing regularly in the future.
