Volkswagen to sponsor this year’s Vantastival

The 2016 Vantastival Festival will be sponsored by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. This is the most significant partnership ever announced for the festival and reflects its growing influence on the Irish music calendar.

Hundreds of Volkswagen campervans, dating from the 1950s to the present day, travel to County Louth each year for the Vantastival Music and Campervan Festival. The sponsorship deal ties in with the re-imagination of the event at Vantastival’s new home, Beaulieu House & Gardens in Drogheda.

Alan Bateson, director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland, said: “Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has a long history of supporting events that bring together its customer base and the sponsorship of Vantastival gives us a unique opportunity to invest in the partnership we have with so many of our campervan owners.”

Badly Drawn Boy will headline on the Volkswagen main stage on Saturday, June 4. A 15th anniversary deluxe edition of the UK artist’s seminal Mercury Prize-winning album, The Hour of Bewilderbeast, was released in 2015, while his soundtrack to the 2002 film About a Boy remains one of his most critically acclaimed albums.

New additions to the already impressive line-up include Dublin hip-hop artist Sample Answer, Meath singer-songwriter Saramai, and local folk/trad trio Kern, featuring the voice and guitar of SJ McArdle. The full line-up can be found at vantastival.com/lineup-2016/

Vantastival 2016 will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 3 and 4. In addition to a great music line-up, other attractions will include the Volkswagen campervan cook-off, an open mic event, art installations, storytelling, festival traders, a host of children’s activities, and much more. Vantastival has something for everyone, with or without a campervan.

Weekend tickets are on sale now at €75 plus booking fee for two nights camping.
