There was shock and great sadness for everybody associated with Buccaneers Rugby Club this week as news filtered through of the death of Kevin Moran.
Mr Moran was a member of Buccaneers Senior squad that secured the Division Two title during the 2007-2008 season, and was also involved in the club’s 2008-2009 campaign.
He tragically passed away after a motoring accident in Australia. The County Mayo native, who was in his early 30s, first played rugby with Westport and progressed as a prop to the Connacht Development Squad before emigrating to Australia.
While with Buccaneers, he was selected for the Ireland Club International team that played away to Scotland and he marked this international appearance with a try. Everybody associated with Buccaneers would like to extend their deepest sympathies to his family on their massive untimely loss.
