Athlone Musical Society presents Rock of Ages

The Dean Crowe Theatre will soon open its doors to the Broadway smash hit musical, Rock of Ages.

The cast are currently busy rehearsing for this big, brash, 80s rock extravaganza. The cast includes Chris Currid as Drew, the raw, young rock ‘n' roll talent with a set of pipes from the gods, and Cherise O’Moore, the impressionable young woman who comes to Los Angeles from small-town Kansas to become an actress.

Also starring are: Malcolm Whelan as Lonny, the quick-witted sound guy in the Sunset Strip's Bourbon Room who acts as narrator for the story; Charles Doherty as Dennis, the owner of the Bourbon Room, Sunset Strip's legendary music club; Jim Walsh as Stacee Jaxx, the bad-ass, lead singer of the band Arsenal; and Paul Holloway as Hertz, the seemingly evil businessman who wants to strip all the fun from the Sunset Strip.

Joseph McCaul will take on the role of Franz, Hertz’ foppish, flamboyant German son, while Amy Kelly will play the part of Regina, a fun, hippie type who fights against the attempted takeover of The Sunset Strip. Justice, owner of the Venus Gentlemen’s Club, will be played by Petrova Mulvey.

This arena-rock love story is told through the mind-blowing hits of Journey, Foreigner, Styx, Reo Speedwagon, Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Asia, Whitesnake and many more. Songs include "Sister Christian," "We Built This City," "I Wanna Rock," "We're Not Gonna Take It," "Waiting For A Girl Like You," "Wanted Dead or Alive," "I Want To Know What Love Is," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Renegade," and "Don't Stop Believin'.

Rock of Ages opens at the Dean Crowe Theatre on Saturday, March 5, and runs for eight nights. Tickets are on sale now from the Dean Crowe Theatre. Call (090 ) 6492129 or book online at www.deancrowetheatre.com
