The Sheerin Family Band continues with its monthly gig at Cooney’s Hotel, Ballymahon, on Tuesday, March 1.
Cooney’s has a very special treat in store for fans of country music, as The Sheerin Family will be joined by Ireland’s newest country sensation Jordan Mogey. Mogey grew up in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, listening to the purest of country music. Starting singing at the tender age of four, his biggest influences were Merle Haggard and George Jones. As he got a bit older, Mogey grew fond of rockabilly music and says Johnny Cash completely changed his life.
Mogey counts Johnny and Vern ‘The Voice’ Gosdin as his heroes and hopes those that attend his gigs can hear glimmers of their magic in his music. “This guy has a voice of gold, probably one of the finest real country singers this country has produced in the last 30 years,” says Danny from The Sheerin Family Band.
Each month, The Sheerins are joined by a special guest from the world of Irish entertainment. Past guests have included Nathan Carter, Lisa McHugh, Johnny Brady, Robert Mizzell, Matt Leavy, Philomena Begley and many more. It is now such a high profile gig that guests are lining up for a chance to perform.
A great night is in store on March 1. The show starts at 10pm and admission is free.
