The Kilfenora Céilí Band will play The Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, on Saturday, February 27, with all funds raised being donated to The Children’s Language Development Preschool (CLDP ) in Oranmore.
It promises to be a fantastic night with the band's large-scale theatre spectacle, talented musicians and dancers on show. Tickets for the performance can be purchased from CLDP by calling (091 ) 877875 and from the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, on (090 ) 9630400.
CLDP in Oranmore has been running since 2008 and provides early intervention to any child between the age of two and six who may have a communication delay or disorder. The management and staff at the school have seen some fantastic results with children in the past six years and believe that early intervention is key in developing communication skills in children who may have a communication delay.
A child may simply need extra support and an individualised intervention programme at this important developmental learning stage to help overcome this communication delay. The school also has seen that this approach benefits children on the autism spectrum, children with dyspraxia, and children with Down Syndrome in a similar way. Evidence of this can be seen in testimonials received from families who have attended the preschool.
One past parent said on leaving CLDP: “When we came upon CLDP our lives changed. Our son got the help he needed and is now a much happier and contented little boy as he can now communicate better”.
Limited places are available. Places are also available through the ECCE scheme. Call the school on (091 ) 877875 for more details or visit www.cldp.ie
