Go ‘On the Dry’ this January in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation, is the pre-festive plea from beloved Father Ted actor Frank Kelly and the RTÉ 2FM Breakfast Republic crew, Jennifer Maguire, Bernard O’Shea, and Keith Walsh.
The foursome enjoyed flamboyant fruit-adorned mugs of tea as they called on the nation to sign up now at www.onthedry.ie to ditch the booze for January and give their new year a healthy kick-start.
The On The Dry campaign not only raises vital funds for the national charity fighting heart disease and stroke in every corner of the country, but those who sign up to take part have a greater chance of realising their goal to make a healthy start to 2016.
Giving up alcohol for a month can help improve sleep, energy, and weight loss. In a survey of last year’s participants, 62 per cent said they had better sleep and more energy after taking part, 49 per cent reported losing weight, 79 per cent saved money, and 82 per cent said they felt a sense of achievement.
Funds from On the Dry will go directly to help prevent heart disease and stroke which is responsible for the biggest loss of life in Ireland annually.
