Athlone Town can achieve if everyone works together, says Philip Nolan

Athlone Town commercial and marketing manager, Philip Nolan, is optimistic about the Midlanders’ future following a “positive” spell for the club.

Nolan, who was recently hired by Athlone, is encouraged by the early response of supporters regarding season tickets for the 2016 SSE Airtricity League First Division campaign: “Since starting in the role I’ve had plenty of positive feedback,” Nolan says. “There has been a good response to our season ticket launch and we are happy with that.

“We are trying to entice people that were season ticket holders before back to get involved with the club again. If we are to be successful again we will need a good spirit. That happens from people being interested on the terraces and, often, the players and staff then respond too. It is important for us to do things properly. Being realistic we would be happy enough if we were to sell in the region of 100 season tickets.”

It has been a hectic stint for Nolan, who is hopeful that the Town will be able to announce news about the make-up of the coaching and playing staff soon: “It has been a busy spell getting the club licensing application done, he says. “I’ve also met a few potential sponsors for the club which is obviously very important. We need to connect with people interested in Athlone. I’d urge anybody that has any feeling towards the club to help us, because we need everybody to come together to build up the club. We can achieve if we all work together.”

A quiz night is scheduled for December 10 at the Bounty and Athlone Town’s Christmas raffle will also take place. Further details can be obtained at athlonetownfc.ie or by ringing (090 ) 6480001.
