Creepy capers at The Snug Bar this Halloween

Capes and cowls on this weekend for a Halloween fancy dress party you won’t forget at The Snug Bar. There will be spot prizes for the best costumes, and if that wasn’t enough of a reason to raid the hidden depths of your wardrobe (or maybe that of your younger relatives! ), there is plenty of good music planned too.

Thursday October 29 at 9.30pm it is the turn of The Mahoneys to take to the stage. Buckeye will be back at 10pm on Friday 30, and they are sure to draw the weekend crowds. Buckeye are a lively vibrant four-piece band of Athlone-based musicians who play a wide variety of music, including rock, blues, bluegrass, folk, reggae, traditional, funk and pop. The signature sound of the band comes from the banjo playing of John Shanagher  and the vocal harmonies from all members of the band. The other members are Daniel Dempsey (bass, guitar, and vocals ), Mark Ryan (guitar, bass, and vocals ), and Paul Shanagher (drums and harmonica ).

Save your best spooky moves for Pacifica, a rock pop cover band from Galway who play on Saturday night from 10pm. The festivities continue on Sunday November 1 when Remix start the ball rolling at 7pm. They will be followed at 9.30pm by Imposter. Covering The Black Crowes to The Black Keys, Gorillaz to The Killers and everything in between, this great energy band has over 50 years gigging experience! Imposter knows what it takes to have a great time, bringing intricate three-part harmonies that come as easily as stomping on the distortion pedal.
