Cheer on Robbie down at The Snug this Sunday

Make time for music this week with plenty of great acts at The Snug Bar, before the sport takes top billing on Sunday. 

On Thursday October 15 The Retronauts take to the stage at 9.30pm. Regularly performing all over Ireland, The Retronauts provide everything you need to make your evening a huge success every time. With a setlist comprising the best of funk, rock, reggae and disco, The Retronauts will be sure to keep that dance floor full all night long! These musicians are all experienced and well trained and always provide a highly entertaining and energetic show.

Friday October 16 at 10pm it's Strung Out, a three-piece acoustic band from Galway who play a unique blend of exceptional covers. This versatile and talented band always delivers an intriguing and hugely entertaining performance. Music lovers are in for a real treat.

On Saturday it's the turn of The Late Greats, an energetic duo from Mullingar, playing a wide range of material from 10pm. Their set list spans six decades of great music with a variety of hits that will satisfy all tastes. Their exceptional vocal harmonies always receive great appreciation. The Snug Bar's resident DJ will be out in the beer garden to set the mood for the night. 

Snug Sunday means Rugby Sunday as Ireland play Argentina in the Rugby World Cup quarter-final, live at 1pm. Come on over to The Snug Bar and cheer on Robbie!

At 7pm Buckeye provide the music - a lively vibrant four-piece band of Athlone-based musicians who play a wide variety of music, including rock, blues, bluegrass, folk, reggae, traditional, funk, and pop. The signature sound of the band comes from the banjo playing of John Shanagher and the vocal harmonies from all members of the band. The other members are Daniel Dempsey (bass, guitar and vocals ), Mark Ryan (guitar, bass, and vocals ) and Paul Shanagher (drums and harmonica ).

They are followed by the Amazing Apples at 9pm. Playing for the last time in The Snug in 2015, this famous five-piece multi-instrumentalist folk/rock band from Galway have released their own album brimming with inventive, thought-provoking music. The musically versatile and talented band have massive charisma and huge live appeal. Their sound is Irish/Americana with tons of personality and high-energy performances. All the members are multi-instrumentalists incorporating bouzouki, mandolin, keyboard, and fiddle for their live show.
