Spectators’ paradise at The Snug this week

Whether it's the rugby, the soccer, the songs, or just the craic you're after this week, The Snug Bar has it covered.

On Thursday October 8 start the weekend early with the Euro Qualifiers match at 7.45pm when Ireland take on Germany. Win or lose, stay around for the Hoppy Bar Stars from 9.30pm, a band with a reputation for creating a great pub atmosphere.

Toxic Twins, that great duo on drums and guitar, kick off the weekend proper on Friday, October 9 at 10pm. Dave and Eric make up this rock/ pop covers band, and are likely to satisfy even the most demanding music enthusiasts. They have a wide repertoire of songs from acts such as Bruno Mars, The Police, Temper Trap, Lumineers, The Knack, Undertones, Talking Heads, U2, Bob Marley, Kings of Leon, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, The Killers, Blondie, and many more.

Make your way to The Snug Bar for 10pm on Saturday to listen to ReJig - they're an energetic contemporary trad fusion band with a sound ranging from traditional Irish jigs and reels played with a twist to current chart toppers.

Don't forget the DJ will be in the beer garden - and he won't want to be there on his own so go check out what he's playing this Saturday.

Come early on Sunday to grab the best seat in the house for the Rugby World Cup Ireland v France match live from 4.30pm. And why not make a night of it by staying to watch the Ireland v Poland Euro Qualifiers at 8.45pm?

Musically, The Snug Bar will be hosting Athlone's very own Macey South, who will be taking to the stage between matches. This band’s energy is comparable to the Pogues and Horslips whilst drawing influences from a variety of genres. Macey South are incredibly unique and their original mix of traditional Irish music and rock 'n' roll never fails to get an audience involved.

The Snug Bar has all BT and Sky Sports coverage shown on the big screen, and for party bookings at The Snug Bar call (090 ) 6490971.
