FF reveals candidates for Kilbeggan area

Fianna Fail has confirmed the three candidates to contest the Kilbeggan electoral area for June’s local elections.

Councillor Paul Daly will be joined by two first-time candidates, Vincent Bagnall and Vinny McCormack.

Kilbeggan native Cllr Paul Daly was co-opted on to Westmeath County Council in July 2008 following the death of Councillor Tom Cowley and serves on the Midland Regional Authority and the Planning SPC.

He is chair of Kilbeggan Race Committee and of the Westmeath Ploughing Association.

Cllr Daly is a former player and secretary of Kilbeggan Shamrocks Football Club and the director of Westmeath football supporters group.

Vincent Bagnall is an auctioneer and a first time candidate.

He is a member of St Mary’s Football Club in Rochfortbridge and the secretary of the New Forest Golf Club.

Vinny McCormack is also a first time candidate.

He manages a bar in Ballymore and is the secretary of the Ballymore Gaelic football club and PRO of Fr Dalton’s Hurling’s Club.

He is also involved in Tidy Towns and is part of a training scheme to encourage use of defibrillators locally.
