Athlone Musical Society are busy preparing for their 2016 production of the smash hit musical Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages is the ultimate 80s rock musical, a rip-roaring, hilarious story of dreams, love, and of course rock! Five times nominated for the prestigious Tony Awards in the US (including ‘Best Musical’ ), Rock of Ages is a celebration of Los Angeles rock culture, with a great storyline to boot. Set in 1987, a small-town girl meets a big city rocker in LA’s most famous rock club and they fall in love to some of the greatest songs of the decade including ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, ‘We Built This City’, ‘The Final Countdown’, ‘Wanted Dead or Alive’, ‘Here I Go Again’, ‘Harden My Heart’, ‘Can’t Fight this Feeling’, ‘Renegade’ and ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’.
Athlone Musical Society are holding an information night on Tuesday October 6 at 7.30pm in St Paul’s National School. This will be a great opportunity to meet the production team - Alfie Kilduff (director ), Ger Madden (MD ), and Nicole McDonald (choreographer ) and to find out about the show. Ger will go through some of the audition pieces and Nicole will be holding a dance workshop.
Auditions for lead roles and chorus will then take place on Wednesday October 14 at 7.30pm in the Dean Crowe Theatre.
