Members of the Artlink Collective celebrated Culture Night with an interactive demonstration of painting and ceramics in the Town Hall Theatre, Ballinasloe.
Tom Finn encouraged passers-by to put their mark on an abstract painting and Ness Kelly handed willing volunteers clay to form a collaborative art piece which started as a vase and ended up as a friendly dragon.
Participants enjoyed interacting with each other and talking to the artists about their work. On behalf of the group, Jackie Eastwood said: “It was great that so many people took part in the event and had the opportunity to try something new. The artists were all delighted to have an interaction with the audience.”
The Artlink Collective was formed in 2014 and will be holding an exhibition of work with the theme ‘Windows’ on October 23 and 24 in the Gels building in Cullen’s Yard, Ballinasloe. Members of the collective include Tom Finn, Ness Kelly, Rosemarie Langtry, Jackie Eastwood, and Lily Kelly.
The ‘A conversation with’ series will continue with a talk by visual artist Una Spain on Monday, November 23, at 8pm in Gullane’s Hotel. All are welcome to attend.
