Highly respected healer Paddy Hughes brings cures to Athenry and Athlone

A little more than 30 years ago, Paddy Hughes had no idea of what fate had in store for him, when his aunt chose him to carry on the gift of healing which had been in his family for close to 100 years.

Hughes has close to 30 different cures and heals through prayer. Other remedies used include oatmeal to cure asthma, angina, and headaches, and sand to get rid of warts and veruccas. Hughes cannot explain how it works but is a great believer in the power of prayer. He says he gets requests from people of all walks of life.

“When they have tried the rest, they come to me,” Hughes says with a touch of humour. He also works on animals and has great success in curing orf infections in sheep. He says a phone call to him can relieve red water in cattle or pink eye in animals.

Paddy Hughes will be in the Raheen Woods Hotel, Athenry, on September 18, 25, and on October 2 (three Fridays ) - sessions will  take place from 1-7pm. He will also be at The Creggan Court Hotel, Athlone, on September 19, 26, and on October 3 (three Saturdays ) from 11am to 4pm.
