Cornafulla National School gets the thumbs up

TD for Roscommon/South Leitrim and Minister for Housing, Urban Renewal & Developing Areas, Michael Finneran, has been informed Cornafulla National School has been sanctioned to re-tender, with a view to works beginning on site as soon as possible.

The tender process for the project will include a five-classroom extension, GP room, refurbishment, and associated works.

“I met with my colleague Batt O’Keeffe on many occasions, and again in the last week, in relation to Cornafulla National School, and stressed the urgent need for the provision of additional classrooms and I’m delighted that the project has now been sanctioned,” said Deputy Finneran.

“I have received ongoing representations from the board of management and parents’ association, and I am delighted to be in a position to deliver this news.

“This school was previously offered for tender; however, the project is now being re-tendered under the new form of contracts for public capital projects to get better value for money.

“I wish the principal Joan Conway, chairman of the board of management Fr Ray Milton, board of management, teachers, pupils, and parents every success with this project,” concluded Deputy Finneran.
