Fancy a spin?

Anyone who has seen Kate Moss' sexy pole dance routine in the White Stripes’ video for ‘I just don't know what to do with myself’ and thought “I can do that” - well the good news is, now you can. The new fitness craze that has been sweeping the globe has arrived in Mullingar courtesy of Polestars, Ireland’s leading polefitness school.

With celebrity fans like Kate Hudson, Paris Hilton, Fergie, and Angelina Jolie praising its benefits, pole dancing is fast replacing a boring session down the gym. These celebrity endorsements have helped to remove the seedy images often associated with pole dancing, making it one of the fastest growing trends in the fitness industry. Polefitness classes are run once a week for six weeks and each class lasts for two hours, incorporating an aerobic warm up, polework for strength, endurance, and improved muscle tone, and ending with cool down and stretching. Polefitness is ideal for toning problem areas such as tummy, thighs, and bum, and participants can expect to burn more calories than an average session down the gym. Additional benefits are increased confidence, feeling sexier, and a real sense of achievement. All classes are taught by enthusiastic and supportive teachers in a fun, energetic, and female-friendly environment.

Polestars also runs four week courses in burlesque and offers alternative Hen Party Packages with a choice of Pole, Burlesque, Bollywood, and Can Can parties.

Beginners Polefitness courses start Tuesday February 3 from 7.30pm to 9pm and Friday February 6 from 10am to 12pm at The Dance Factory, Mullingar.
