An information evening about industry-focused Springboard+ courses will take place at Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT ) this Thursday, 16 July from 4-7pm.
There are 300 places available on 15 courses in growth areas including data analytics, construction management, polymer technology, and advanced manufacturing.
The courses range from CPD certificates and degrees through to postgraduate diploma and Masters qualifications. A number of the courses are delivered on a flexible basis combining online and classroom delivery.
The information evening will take place in the main canteen on campus and will offer prospective students an opportunity to talk to staff about the courses and their career ambitions.
Head of Faculty of Engineering and Informatics at AIT, Dr Austin Hanley, said: “These courses will give students the knowledge and skills required to work in some of the fastest growing areas of the economy. They were developed in consultation with industry and several feature work experience as part of the course. The track record of AIT graduates in securing employment from these courses in previous years is excellent.”

Springboard+ provides free places in higher education for people who are unemployed, previously self-employed, or in short-term work, in order to help them get back to work. Springboard students may be able to keep income supports while completing their course. Since 2011, 20,000 jobseekers have participated on Springboard courses with an €85 million investment from the Exchequer.
